Johnson Controls Executive Roundtable

8:00 AM | Registration and Breakfast

9:00 AM | Developing a Smarter Community: Current Trends and Best Practices

The goals of a smart city are the same as any city – to build a thriving community and brand. The difference is how a smart city works toward those goals. The key is data access, communication, connectivity and insight. Accessing and acting on data doesn’t happen overnight. But once the data is gathered and analyzed, it’s possible to balance the rising cost and complexity of city services alongside the demands of citizens and businesses.

In this panel discussion session, we’ll hear from various city and county leaders on establishing a vision, gaining alignment and putting into motion plans and projects for a smarter community.

10:00 AM | Accomplishing Public Objectives Through Performance Infrastructure

As public leaders strive to create smart, safe, comfortable environments, careful planning and alternate funding mechanisms are putting infrastructure improvements within financial reach. According to recent research from Johnson Controls Global Energy Efficiency Indicator survey, more than 40% of smart city respondents are using more innovative approaches to overcoming financial hurdles, including Public-Private Partnerships (P3).

In this session, we’ll discuss barriers and funding strategies, and hear from colleagues with successful performance infrastructure projects leveraging traditional and non-traditional funding.
